What are eyelash extensions?
|
Eyelash extensions are applied to each natural lash to enhance the length, curliness, fullness, and thickness. The customized look can range from natural to glamourous.
Level 1 - Classic - 1:1 one synthetic lash applied to one natural lash. It provides the most natural look (like mascara on steroids). 0.15 diameter in C or D curl. Level 2 - Hybrid - mix of classic and volume for a natural and fuller look (the most popular set - perfect for professionals). Level 3 - Volume - 3-5 extensions in a fan formation on one natural lash to create a full look (full strip lash look). 0.06-0.07 diameter in C or D curl. Level 4 - Extreme Volume - 3-10 extensions in a fan formation for a fuller glam look (full mink strip lash look). 0.05-0.06 diameter in C or D curl. Level 5 - Mega Volume - 10-15 extensions in a fan formation for a dense Vegas style look. 0.03 diameter in C or D curl. |

LASH Extensions Q&A's
Do they ruin my eyelashes?
If applied correctly and maintained properly, they will not ruin your natural lashes. If a lash sheds and you see your natural lash attached with no follicle bulb, it's a natural lash shed. However, if there is a follicle bulb, that means it was prematurely taken out. Avoid touching or pulling the lash extensions as this can take out the natural lashes before its shedding cycle and cause damage.
Do they hurt?
Not at all! If applied correctly, you won't feel a thing. Having eyelash extensions applied is quite relaxing and it's common for clients to squeeze in a nap during the session. If you feel any stinging or discomfort during the process, please let your technician know.
How long does it take?
A fresh new set of eyelash extensions can take about approximately 1.5hrs depending on how many natural lashes you have. Each person has an average of 90 to 120 natural lashes per eye. We shed about 1-3 natural lashes per day, and 2-5 natural lashes during the Spring and Fall lash shedding season (just like bunnies they shed their fur, like we shed our lashes and hair - ask your hair dresser)! Lash shedding and extension retention is also affected by stress, diet, lifestyle, and product use. A fill can range from 45min to 1.25hrs depending on your lash shedding cycle. The average is approximately 3 weeks for a refill. You can conveniently book online anytime depending on your need!

lash lifts

What is a lash lift?
A lash lift is a low maintenance lash service where we reform the hydrogen bonds of the lashes to a curled state. The look is essentially what you would achieve with a mechanical eyelash curler and will last approximately 6 weeks. If you have light/blonde lashes, adding a lash tint to darken the lashes will make a huge impact! What happens during a lash lift session?
Your technician will assess your lashes and ask how curled you would like the lift. The technician will put the appropriate shield size on the closed eyelid and place the lashes to the shield. Products are applied to the lashes only and does not run into the eye. The session is approximately 45min to 1hr. The shields are removed and a keratin gel is applied to condition the lashes. Why would I do a lash lift over lash extensions?
A lash lift requires the lowest maintenace ever. They are amazing for naturally straight or downward growing lashes. Instead of coming in every 3 weeks for an eyelash extension fill, a lift doesn't require a retouch until 6-8 weeks later. You can rub your eyes, use any makeup and face products, go to hot yoga/saunas/tanning beds without worrying about retention. Some people will do a lash lift and tint for a break between lash extensions. |
LASH extensions MAINTENANCE AND INFORMATION
Now that you your lashes on, take note of these tips to maintain them:
- Avoid high heat, steam, or water on the lashes (i.e. sauna, tanning, swimming, hot showers directly on the lashes, etc.) as it may break down the adhesive faster than normal.
- Avoid pulling or rubbing your eyes.
- Do not use eyelash curlers with your extensions. If you require more curl, we can fill it in with curlier curls at the fill appointment.
- Please keep lashes clean with regular face washing. We recommend a lash extension safe cleanser such as FaceEnvy or Garnier micellar water sensitive (pink cap, then rinse). Do not use any oil cleansers.
- Double check facial products, under eye cream, moisturizers, cleansers to ensure they are OIL FREE. If it feels greasy/slippery and the cream just sits on top of the skin instead of completely absorbing, chances are it's probably not good for your lash extensions as those emollients will break the glue down faster thus affecting retention.
- Ensure you are washing shampoos and conditioners away from the face. Products that run down into the lashes can sit and break down the adhesive faster than normal.
- Use only mascaras that are safe for eyelash extensions, no oil-based, tubing, or waterproof mascaras.
- After showering avoid rubbing lashes, it best to blot them with a lint-free towel and/or let them air dry.
- Touch-up appointments are required every few weeks to maintain your new eyelash extensions. Everyone's eyelash shedding cycle is different and things like stress, diet, and season changes can affect this. We recommend booking 3 weeks ahead and you can change your appointment online as long as it's more than 24hrs before the scheduled appointment.
- Using an eyelash growth serum such as Latisse will slow down the lash shedding process as well as make any natural lash hairs stronger and longer.
- Feel free to brush the lash extensions downwards and/or upwards when they are dry to detangle and brush them into place.
- Should you have any issues in the next few days after your appointment, please contact your technician as they will fix any issues for free in those three days.
*NEW* WEEKEND CLUSTER LASHES
What are cluster lashes:
Cluster lashes are a type of eyelash extension that come in small "clusters" of lashes, typically glued together at the base. Unlike classic lash extensions, which are applied one individual lash at a time, cluster lashes are grouped in small bunches, making the process faster and the final result fuller. They last approximately a week before requiring removal - perfect for cry proof wedding weekends, that wild weekend in Vegas, or that waterproof weekend at the lake.
Lash clusters are definitely a quick and dramatic way to enhance your lashes, but like anything, they come with their pros and cons. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide if they’re the right choice for you:
Pros of Lash Clusters:
Final Thoughts: Cluster lashes are a great choice for short-term, customizable looks but are less ideal for long-term wear. If you’re looking for a fuller, voluminous lash look for a special event and don’t mind the temporary nature, they can be a fun option. But if you’re looking for a more natural and long-lasting lash solution, individual extensions might be a better bet.

Pros of Lash Clusters:
- Quick Application: Since they come in pre-made clusters, the application process is much faster compared to individual lash extensions. You can achieve a full, voluminous look in less time. This may be ideal for clients who don't want to lay down for a long period of time.
- No fills required: If you’re only looking for a temporary lash boost that is waterproof and cry proof that will last 24/7 for 7 days (for a wedding, a short vacation, or a special event), cluster lashes are a good option. They can easily be removed without the need for professional help using a special remover in the comfort of your own home.
- Customizable: You can choose different lengths, thicknesses, and curl types, depending on the look you're after, allowing for some level of customization.
- Must be removed before 7 days: Because the clusters are glued together and placed on multiple lashes at once, the weight and tension can cause strain on your natural lashes. If not applied carefully or removed properly, it could lead to lash breakage or thinning over time.
- Shorter Wear Time: They generally don't last as long as individual lash extensions.
- Potential for Glue Buildup: If you get them applied frequently, the glue can build up, which can be harder to clean off than individual lashes. This could lead to irritation or even infection if not removed properly.

If you’re looking for a fuller, voluminous lash look for a special event and don’t mind the temporary nature, they can be a fun option.
