What is Microblading?
Microblading is the process of implanting ink in a hair stroke shape into the dermis layer of the skin. This produces a 9mo to 2 year result (depending on the skin type and skin regimen) before requiring a touch up. Microblading creates a natural and almost undetectable look when blended in with the natural (or lack of) brow hairs. It does not give the solid powdered or tattooed brow look. Microblading requires a minimum of 2 sessions with a 4-6 week period in between sessions. Although microblading can work on most skin types, the strokes can have a minor blurring/less crisp lines effect if you have oily or severely oily skin. |

What are Powdered Brows?
Powdered brows are an eyebrow powder/pomade makeup look. The tail at the end of the brow is a lot darker, while it slowly and gradually fades and looks a lot more natural at the beginning of the brow.
The powdered brow look can be done in a soft powdery look or a more defined look and is done with a machine. It lasts 9mo to 3 years depending on the skin type and skin regimen before requiring a touch up. Although powdered brows can work on most skin types, it works best with oily or mature thick skin. Enjoy a free touch up 4-6 weeks after your initial session!

What are Hybrid or Combination brows?
Hybrid or combination brows is a mix of the nano (thin machined hairstrokes) or microbladed (hand tool hair strokes) and the powdered brow method.
1) Hyrbid brows are natural hair strokes throughout the brow, and a soft shaded powdered brow throughout the brow.
2) Combination brows are natural hair strokes in the beginning of the brow and fades to a more solid tail at the end.
It can last from 9mo to 3 years depending on the skin type and skin regimen before requiring a touch up. Although hybrid and combination brows will work with most skin types, the oilier skin types could notice minor blurring/less crisp of the hair strokes over time. BROW Q&A's
Does the procedure hurt?
Most clients report a 0-2 out of 10 for pain (1 being the best, 10 for the most painful) for microblading and a 0-2 out of 10 for powdered brows. We apply a topical anesthetic to the uncut skin first, then do the structural hairs. We then apply a gel anesthetic to the open skin for further comfort as we do the detail hairs. We've had clients fall asleep at our table before! Try not to do microblading the week before your monthly period because the body has less pain tolerance before the period (just like waxing services).

What should I expect during the appointment?
During the first session appointment, we talk about what kind of brows you want. Feel free to bring inspirational photos of what you would like so I can let you know if which technique is best for you. We numb the brow area first so that you are comfortable through your session. We clean and sanitize the brow area then draw the brows for you. We will map out and draw brows based on your face shape then tweak it from there.
We would talk about colors and aftercare or any other questions/concerns you may have. We would then nano/microblade and/or powder the structural brow hair shape. We apply a gel anesthetic to numb it more to do the detail hair work. You can double check the brows for final tweaks - it only takes one hair or millimeter to make a difference so if you see something, please let us know!
We would then send you home with aftercare instructions and you would come back after 4-6 weeks for the second session or touch up. This is where we can see how you've healed and tweak the brows to perfection!

BROW AFTERCARE
I have my brows, now what?
Aftercare:
Day 1 – Wash your hands then GENTLY pat the area with a disposable damp paper towel or lint free cotton rounds with clean water to remove any potential weeping fluids (especially within the first hour). Pat dry with a clean paper towel and toss them away. Do not use a used washcloth or towel as your brows are still healing and we want to keep the area clean. Please change your pillowcase to a clean one tonight.
Day 2-9 – Clean brows with a mild soap and water morning and night. If the mild soap stings, pat brows with a damp paper towel and dry. Keep the brow area clean from product until the skin has started to heal over the pigments - everyone has different healing speeds and you know your body the best. Please avoid the following during this period:
- Increased sweating
- Practicing sports
- Swimming
- Hot sauna, hot bath, or jacuzzis
- Sun tanning, or salon tanning
- Makeup, brow products
- Any laser, micro-dermabrasion, chemical treatments, peels, and/or any creams containing oils, Retin-A or Glycolic Acid (usually found in anti-aging products - try and avoid anti aging products as these products tend to resurface or cycle the skin faster, thus fading the brows faster)
- Touching, picking, peeling, or scratching to avoid scarring or removal of the pigment
- Areas or performing tasks related to airborne dust or debris
- Avoid using washcloths or anything abrasive on your brows
- Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing
Itching and flaking may appear in the first 7 days of post-brow procedure. Please apply a THIN layer of the aftercare product provided overtop of the brow with a clean cotton swab three times a day to prevent infection (and especially at night so the pillowcase doesn't rub the flakes off prematurely).
Once healed, apply a sunscreen product of SPF30 or more on the eyebrows when exposed to the sun. The sun may cause the pigment to fade away more quickly. Using a plain, matte, no flavor/aroma balm with SPF in it is one of the more accessible and easiest to apply. Or wear a hat when exposed to the sun. Healing is different for everyone and touchups and/or correction of the shape-design is recommended 4-6 weeks after the initial session. Please contact your technician immediately should you have unexpected problems with healing of the skin for further instructions.
The Cycle:
Brows are dark as the pigment is sitting on top of the skin and has not yet settled. If you see pigment on the cotton swab, this is excess pigment and/or body fluid exiting the skin. The brows start to get darker and will begin to heal and flake off. This may give you the impression that the color is fading too quickly, this is just the superficial color and dry skin being removed from the eyebrows. The color will come back in the last two weeks and then you’re ready for the second session. During the second session, you will notice the pigments will stay better in the brows as your skin has become accustomed to the pigment and sessions. Contact your technician should you require touchups after the two sessions as this may required for oilier or thicker skin types. Brow retention will vary depending on the person's skin type, lifestyle, and skin regimen.
When it starts to fade, there is still that template for you to easily fill them in. All the brow procedures are a low maintenance (not no-maintenance) type of semi-permanent tattoo. You will still need to maintain your natural brow hairs by trimming or plucking to keep your brows polished.
